Athletics –
Camp Mishkan Israel’s wide variety of sports activities include Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Football, Volleyball, Field Hockey, and more. Through patient guidance and encouragement, the children develop sportsmanship, leadership, self-confidence, and the ability to enjoy all sports.
Field Trips –
Mishkan Israel’s “trip days” are once a week. Over the course of a summer most major attractions in Southern Connecticut are visited. Included are Smiles Amusement Park, Bruce Museum, Beardsley Park Zoo, The Children’s Museum, Fun Factory, Norwalk Maritime Center, The National Helicopter Museum, Barry Picking, Discovery Museum, as well as, the highlight of all trips, annual overnight trips (one for boys and another one for girls) at the beautiful Kettletown State Park in Southbury, Conn. For campers age 8 and above only!
Group Placement –
All campers at Mishkan are divided into age groups for individualized attention and supervision. An average group consists of eight to ten campers. Under the guidance of a counselor and junior counselor, the children of the group work together as a team, and learn to value the friendship and unity.
Arts & Crafts, and
Music –
For the development of the child, song and music are part of the daily activities of camp. These programs are directed by outstanding trained and qualified arts and crafts personnel, and well rounded drama counselors.
Swimming –
Daily recreational swimming, water sports, and swimming instruction in full size heated swimming pools are delightfully refreshing elements of the camp schedule. All aquatic activities are under constant, careful supervision of trained, experienced and certified Red Cross W.S.I and life guard personnel. Safety is the primary concern!
Lunches –
We firmly believe that our food is the second to no other camp. We serve nutritionally balanced tasty lunches and snacks.
